artspace Scotland

Irene set up artspace Scotland in the local area of Moncreiffe in a disused shop. She bought the derelict shop from the local council in 2003 and through grant aid and her own hard work and that of partner Mark Fairbrother, the shop was renovated to be an artspace for the local community. At the time in Perth there were no facilities for artists and local people. However, due to the highlighted work of the success of artspace, the council themselves began to take on the creative support to the community, so the services were not needed.
