TOMMO
Tommo is an arts collective of three poets who have combined skills to create short cinematic poems. These films converge a visual, sound and text interpretation, allowing the viewer to get a sense of the meaning, without any fixed limitations.
These films are more than a poetry reading. Indeed, the poet is not seen but the sound of the words and occasionally text appears on the screen to provide a sensory abstraction of the meaning to the poetry.
Tommo breaks the hierarchical structure of the poet when tasks of each element are blurred. There is a lack of authorship and this flows into the lack of hierarchy of the poem. What is being said? Did I hear this or this? Uncertainty brings in the viewer to become part of the process: to interpret the text.
